Plant Based Czech Classics

Czech Classics, Gently Reimagined

This evening is an invitation to experience Czech cuisine as it has always lived in family kitchens — respectful of tradition, shaped by necessity, and open to creativity.

Many of the recipes we cook are inspired by my grandmother.
I watched her cook as a child, during a time when ingredients were limited and improvisation was part of everyday life. Out of this simplicity came dishes that were nourishing, inventive and often naturally vegetarian — rooted in old customs, including the tradition of meat-free Fridays.

At our table, we honor these original recipes as closely as possible, while allowing them to evolve.

Dinner is served as a shared, four-course menu, enjoyed slowly and together.

We follow the rhythm of the seasons whenever possible and cook with fresh, high-quality ingredients from Czech producers. No artificial flavorings — only honest food with character.

Classic Czech dishes appear on the table in their traditional form, but can also be prepared in vegetarian or vegan versions. We work with a wide range of plant-based ingredients such as tofu, tempeh, seitan and soy, carefully chosen to respect the original structure and flavor of each recipe.

The Czech Republic has a rich and growing vegetarian and vegan food culture, and we enjoy drawing from it — using quality spices from trusted suppliers to give each dish depth, warmth and a modern touch.

Dessert often reflects old family recipes: fruit-filled cakes, traditional pastries, or simple, comforting sweets like yeast buns with plum jam and light curd cream, prepared the way they have been for generations.

To accompany the meal, we offer carefully selected Czech and Moravian wines or beers from small local breweries.
Special dietary requests are always welcome and can be discussed in advance.

This evening is about more than food.
It is about stories, shared memories, curiosity and conversation — about how traditions travel through time and across tables.

We love hosting these evenings, where the past meets the present, and everyone is welcome at the table.
